At the beginning of this vicious presidential race I complained that there wasn't a lot of difference in the two candidates, John McCain for the Republican Party and Barack Obama, a Democrat. Being a political conservative, I thought that John McCain had entirely too many leftist leanings and Barack Obama was much too liberal for me to even think seriously about giving him my vote. Since they both officially became their party's nominee for president, a lot has occurred to change my mind about one of them.

Many candidates who are otherwise perfectly qualified to run for political office fail simply because they did not take the time to draw up a campaign plan or a road map to victory? Drawing up a campaign plan allows you to see what your pitfalls are and where your strengths lie. It also helps you to get a better estimate on the funds you would need to run your campaign as well as the best places where you are likely to find it.

President Barack Obama delivered his first major policy speech on China without mentioning Taiwan or even mildly challenging Beijing on its human rights record. He tried to be positive, perhaps to avoid provoking China which censored his inauguration speech in January.

We are dismayed by the way Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago, a known administration ally, had quickly distanced herself from the "Le Cirque" dinner issue by exhibiting a holier-than-thou attitude and making it appear that she had nothing to do whatsoever with what she had described as an "outlandish" food outing at the upscale New York restaurant.

There are two important castle structures located in the center of Prinicipality of Nitra and Great Moravia that were built namely the Devin Castle and the Bratislava Castle during the 8th century until 907. Johannes Aventinus, a Bavarian historian in the 16th century recounted that in 805 the Bratislava Castle was restructured during the leadership of Prince Vratislav in the place of an old Roman dwelling known as Pisonium and the structure was named by him as Wratisslaburgium.

Grandpa collected a series of 350 or so photos, reprints and postcards from World War I when he was an American soldier. For some reason he wanted to save all the pictures and they fill almost two albums.
